Use of Technical Vocabulary & Skills Specific to the Mission & Vision

If an administrator does not have a clear understanding of how to use technology then it will be hard to lead a school toward technology. The administrator is the leader of the school. They need to be able give advice and lead their school forward. This would be impossible if an administrator does not obtain the necessary skills. Principals should be creating the school website and updating it regularly. The future of every school includes the use of more and more technology therefor I believe that every school should have a vision where technology is incorporated in their daily activities. If an administrator is not computer savvy then their school could suffer considerably and will fall behind what other schools in the country are doing.

When an administrator shows others that they use technology daily by e-mailing, showing a prezi during a staff meeting, preparing a slideshow for an afterschool activity, etc then they are setting the example. They are showing their staff that they believe technology is important and useful. They can now expect the staff within the building to do the same. The administrator (being the leader) can put on demonstrations on how to use different sites, and since they have the knowledge needed they can now answer questions. As the leader of the school it is important to lead by example so an administrator must be current on the use of technology.
